Go green: Thierry Rabotin presents the vegan ballerina
Italian craftsmanship excellence embraces vegan sustainability
Thierry Rabotin is pleased to present the new Acis and Aloe styles, ballerinas that mark an important evolution in the brand's journey towards greater sustainability. These styles combine the consolidated Italian manufacturing tradition with an innovative and environmentally responsible approach, without sacrificing the design and quality that have always distinguished the brand.
discover Acis, tight-knit texture with closed toe.
discover Aloe, open-weave design for comfort and lightness.
Acis and Aloe are made with Strobel construction, a process that eliminates all rigid components, making the shoe more flexible, lightweight and comfortable, ideal for sports and casual footwear.
The upper, featuring a woven detail, is inspired by our iconic ballerina and is made with recycled plastic yarns, helping to reduce the environmental impact: for every pair of shoes produced, between 5 and 15 plastic bottles are recovered. This approach combines sustainability and innovation while maintaining high technical and creative standards.
The vegan rubber sole is also designed with comfort in mind, with arch support providing stability and comfort for the foot.
Both models have obtained the prestigious Vegan V-Label certification, which is recognized in over 70 countries. This label certifies that the footwear is made without materials or components of animal origin and derivatives, and provides uniform award criteria and maximum transparency for retailers, manufacturers and consumers. The guidelines, approved by the leading European veg associations, clearly define the requirements for vegan and vegetarian certification.
The packaging reflects the same green philosophy, being made entirely from 100% recycled paper.
'We are very excited about this green challenge, which heralds a new era for our brand,' says Thomas Schlecht. 'Thierry Rabotin has always strived for excellence and on this occasion, we have decided to share our vision for a sustainable future. Our tradition, style and philosophy now face a crucial challenge. Throughout our history, we have never accepted compromise, but have always sought the highest quality in construction and design. Today, a new horizon is opening up, inspiring us to create with renewed enthusiasm while holding fast to continuing our pursuit of uncompromising quality.'
